The Howick Fun Run and Walk is an annual fun run and walk in Auckland, taking in the scenery and experiencing a different view of the Howick area.

This year there are three exciting routes, either the 5.9km short course, 6.9km intermediate course or the 8.1km extended course. After the walk participants and families can relax under one of the many trees on Stockade Hill and enjoy music, food and entertainment. It’s a day designed for the whole family to enjoy.

Totara Park course is stacked with trail variety in every course distance and delivers on plenty of carefree, smile-inducing running and walking through magnificent natural landscapes. You’ll breathe in plenty of fresh air as you run through the trails and encounter some fast hard single trails twisting their way throughout the green rolling hills.

Just a hop, skip and jump away from the Auckland city centre yet still providing an enriching wilderness experience running beside the Totara lined bush trails and its natural bushland setting. Again this year, it will be a speedy trail to the finish line with many families joining for the fun at another of Auckland’s hidden gems.

We’ve made it easy for you to gather the entire gang, irrespective of varying fitness and age levels, and head out of the city for an action-packed family outing. The Mid and Short courses are available as walks too, so one event you may get to stretch out in the long or super long while your partner takes a wee whipper snapper or two around the mid or short course.

The Ports of Auckland Round the Bays is an 8.4km fun run or walk starting at Quay Street (between Tinley St and The Strand Overbridge) along Tamaki Drive and finishing at Vellenoweth Green in St Heliers Bay.

This popular annual event attracts around 40,000 registered runners. It is currently organised as a joint collaboration between the Auckland Joggers Club and Fairfax Media and has been run each year since 1972.

This Virtual Run can be done anywhere in the world. You receive a finisher’s medal as if you attended a ‘real life’ run. All you need to do is register, pay the fee, run your distance and receive your medal in the post. They will provide all the information, a runner’s bib to wear, a shiny medal and a Facebook group for support and to share your run if you wish.

Choose from 3 km, 10 km, 42.2 km, or 150 km You can complete the distances in one run, or the 150km can be completed cumulatively over the entire month of April 2017.

Stadium Stomp is a fun and unique challenge which sets you on a stair climbing course within the iconic Eden Park Stadium. Covering over 5,000 stairs, this is New Zealand’s biggest stair climb.

You’ll get out of it what you put in. It’s tough at a pace and scenic at a stroll – the challenge is yours.

Stadium Stomp is open to participants of all fitness levels, aged 12 years or over. You can register as an individual or do it as part of a team. We also offer a Stomp Unlimited category for those wanting an even tougher challenge. This is not a timed event.

All participants are encouraged to raise funds for St John, our official event charity partner.

Stadium Stomp at Eden Park is New Zealand’s ultimate stair climbing challenge. Using the stairs within Eden Park, you’ll follow a stair-climbing course up, down and around the bays. You’ll be climbing over 5,000 stairs in this fun and unique fitness challenge.

This event will take anywhere from 40 to 90 minutes to complete depending on your fitness and pace. The course will be fully signed, partitioned and manned by staff and volunteers to ensure you don’t get lost.

The Shore to Shore is a 5.9km fun run and walk from Takapuna Grammar to Milford Reserve in Auckland. The course goes along Lake Road, Takapuna Beach, Hurstmere Road and Milford Beach.

You are encouraged to have fun and dress up for the run /walk. There will be spot prizes, competitions and entertainment at the finish line – so bring the whole family.

This event North Harbour’s largest annual fun run/walk and helps the community to support their local schools. All proceeds go back to participating schools, in the form of sports equipment grants.
