The Kapiti Women’s Triathlon has several triathlon and duathlon events as well as a 5km fun run/walk. Most events have team options.

Event types: Run/Walk | Bike/Duathlon | Swim/Aquathon | Triathlon

The fun run/walk starts at the triathlon/duathlon transition area, and follows the Wharemauku stream walking track. The run course changes slightly for 2017, due to the construction of the expressway. It still follows the stream, crossing the bridge by the airport and continues up past the detour around the construction site.

A grand tour of Porirua’s spectacular hills, harbour and coastline. Tackle the 18k mountain run or the 7.5k Fun Run/Walk. Something for everyone – all ages, all abilities, all amazing!

porirua-grand-traverse.jpg

The Porirua Grand Traverse has a number of events with individual and team categories in the multisport event, a duathlon option for non-kayakers, the 18km mountain run or the 7.5km fun run/walk and a dedicated youth challenge.

The mountain run goes up Colonial Knob and along the shores of Cook Strait, with terrain ranging from bush and farmland to beaches and wild rocky coastlines. “It was the first time I ever stopped in a race to admire the view,” said one participant.

The fun run route is a spectacular and achievable course from Titahi Bay, along the beachfront, over Whitireia Park and then taking walking tracks around to Onepoto for a final 2k to the finish line at Whitireia Polytechnic.
