Inspired by the 1974 Commonwealth Games marathon, the ASB Christchurch Marathon has been the South Island’s premier marathon event since 1981. Held on Queens Birthday Weekend every year, it is renowned as one of the fastest courses in the world. But it is also one of the most scenic and supportive with a new central city course taking in iconic Christchurch landmarks such as Catherdal Square, Hagley Park and the Avon River. With a Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k & Kids’ Mara’Fun, there is something for everyone. But don’t take our word for it… Try it for Yourself!

DJs will pump out your favourite high tempo music, while you RUN and DANCE through North Hagley Park in Christchurch at The Run Dance Night Music Festival.

You won’t be missed during the night, dress up in Fluro, paint your face, grab some glow sticks and glow through the night as you RUN DANCE or even walk through the night. This is a 5km Run, Dance, Skip or Walk – however you want to get to the finish!

Run to the first DJ station and experience great music. Stop off for some selfies and rock to the music, when you get your breath back – run on to the next DJ station in the park. At the second DJ station experience some more fantastic music and DANCE with your friends and family. Then RUN on to the next station and do the same again. After you’ve left the third DJ Station you’ll RUN DANCE to the Finish where all the DJs will come together to play the night away.
